A microphone system that only amplifies its past uses. It accumulates each performed speech as a sub-material for future articulations. As visitors attempt to speak into the microphone, it outputs the shape of their speech but the content of preceding voices and utterances. Live speech, eventually, loses its semantics and what remains is the energy of the speech-maker at the challenge present at hand.

In various sites of formalised politics, particular acts of speech demarcate the representation of the political as a rational practice, which obscures the workings of irrational power. This work stages a problematisation of rationalised power by experimenting with aesthetics of collective desemanticisation, and temporal dissonance.
